Zenless Zone Zero does have multiplayer capabilities, but it's not an open multiplayer world that one finds in Tower of Fantasy or Genshin Impact. Rather, ZZZ is a single-player game with some limited co-op capabilities in specific game modes.

Multiplayer Highlights:

• Arcade Mode & Notorious Hunt: They are special co-op-compatible fighting modes in which you invite your pals or pair random players for a test of wills to try challenging quests together.

• Limited Party Interaction: While there's no co-op-compatible open world, gamers can enjoy co-op real-time fighting in events or missions.

Multiplayer is not within the main narrative or exploration play. It's mostly left to optional challenge material, late-game or endgame grinding stuff. So while ZZZ is not an MMO-style multiplayer affair, it still lets you co-op with friends for some of it, which is terrific for short plays or when soloing gets boring.

You are a Proxy in ZZZ, an escort of Hollow Raiders into the world of Hollows. You're codename is Phaethon, but once some accidents begin happening, your character must start from scratch and establish their rep with a different name.

Proxies operate off-world by being paired with a compact AI companion called a Bangboo. Initially created to support Hollow evacuations, Bangboo are now utility robots that help with all sorts of chores. Since you can get Bangnoo by banners unlike Agents, it leaves you able to keep your Polychromes intact for summoning new characters or gearing on your Battery (energy system).
